Where and how we all live is crucial to our well-being and health. There is a growing trend towards community breakdown, an increase in single dwelling occupancy and an escalation of unhappiness. My research involved improving the aesthetic of concrete in the urban environment. Although concrete can be grey, ugly and depressing, it can also be beautiful with tactile, textural with strong visual qualities.
